Sunny Terraces Brussels does not collect, store, or share any personal data. We do not require account creation, and we do not track users.
Sunny Terraces Brussels ("the App") is a map-based application that helps users find sun-exposed café and restaurant terraces in Brussels in real time. The App is developed and operated by This Is Human Made (thisishumanmade.com).
This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and your rights as a user.
The App requests access to your device's location (GPS / geolocation) for the sole purpose of:
Your location is never stored, transmitted to our servers, or shared with any third party. Location data is processed entirely on your device in real time and discarded immediately after use.
Location access is optional — the App functions without it, but will not show your current position on the map.
The App uses the following third-party services to provide its functionality. Each service has its own privacy policy.
Mapbox — Provides map tiles and geocoding.
When you use the map, your device communicates with Mapbox servers to load map tiles. Mapbox may process anonymized usage data per their Privacy Policy.
Google Places API — Provides terrace photos.
Photos of terraces are loaded via the Google Places API. Google may process data per their Privacy Policy.
OpenWeatherMap — Provides real-time weather data (cloud cover, temperature).
Weather data is fetched based on the map's current viewport location, not your personal location. See OpenWeatherMap Privacy Policy.
ShadeMap — Provides real-time 3D shadow simulation.
Used to calculate which terraces are in sunlight at the current time. See ShadeMap Privacy Policy.
We do not collect or store:
The App is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Since we do not collect or store personal data, there is no user data at risk. All map and weather data is loaded in real time directly from third-party APIs and is not cached on our servers.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
